After finishing this post, I realize it got a bit long, on me. But, I feel the need to go ahead and post it. I apologize up front for it's length. I was just sitting here thinking, contemplating, after posting about my show last night. I am truly blessed! With Thanksgiving coming up next week, I suppose that has put me in "thankfulness mode." First and foremost, I want to thank my Father in Heaven for all the blessings He has bestowed on me!

In the last couple of years, I have been diagnosed with and cured of cancer (with the prayers and support of my amazing family, friends &, coworkers, who are like family to me), I have met the most wonderful woman, in Patti Hartis, who has truly made my life sweet, I have come back to being who I truly am, singer, songwriter, musician, performing live for the enjoyment of myself and others. Singing and performing with My daughter Erin Hayes and now my son Jordan Hayes has been a dream come true, for me. I have met and been befriended by the most amazing circle of musicians, singers, songwriters and supporters of live music. I will try to list as many as I can think of, if I leave your name out, I apologize.

WOW, I'm 60! I remember when we used to say along with Dr. Timothy Leary, "Never trust anyone over 30." Well, today, in I believe a little over 30 minutes from now, I will be double that! This old guy has seen a lot of changes in those 60 years; the invention of color TV, men walking on the moon, the assassination of a US president, the birth of civil rights, the end of Apartheid, The fall of the Soviet Union and the decline of communism, the Vietnam War, the Cold War and several near misses that could have ended in Nuclear War, the birth of the Information Age, the invention of cellular phones, personal computers, video games, some of the greatest music ever recorded, social networking, to name a few. All that in just 60 years! And, I know I am forgetting some things. I would love to have the perspective of readers of this blog, what you remember in your lifetime, the changes, the good the bad and the ugly.
